Sometimes when you don't hear much news about a young actor the entertainment industry becomes nervous for fear that maybe they have either become burnt out or worse is the potential fear that they have stopped working on developing and refining their craft. Some entertainment observers had this fear about talented actor Michael Cera after his three television series, "Arrested Development", "Childrens Hospital" and "Burning Love" all stopped filming in 2013. However, Michael Cera took the opportunity of these two shows ending to work on two movies and in the process has attracted the attention of movie producers and directors with two quality performances.
Michael Cera on red carpet

Currently Michael Cera is receiving very good reviews at the Sundance Film Festival for his portrayal of Bennie in the movie "Hits" alongside critically acclaimed actress Julia Stiles. Michael Cera demonstrating that he has the ability to share the screen with Julia Stiles and others lets Hollywood producers and directors know that he is ready for some more dramatic and challenging roles.

In addition to the positive reviews he is receiving for "Hits" he also has been receiving quality reviews for his performance in Chile in the independent film "Crystal Fairy and the Magical Cactus". During this performance he demonstrated the ability to be silly and yet remain professional in his performance when he easily could have lost focus as many young actors would do in playing a young American on a 'road' trip.

Michael Cera may have been away from Hollywood for the past year but his actions indicate that he was focused on working on his craft in an attempt to demonstrate to the agents, directors and producers of Hollywood that he is ready for more challenging acting roles in the near future.

Do not be surprised if Michael Cera becomes one of the pleasant dramatic actor surprises in the upcoming year.
