Back in July we learnt that X-Men: First Class actor Michael Fassbender had signed up to star in and produce the big screen movie adaptation of the hit video game Assassin’s Creed. Now it appears that the chances of an Assassin’s Creed movie being made have been strengthened even further.

Ubisoft have insisted for quite some time now that they are dead set on making an Assassin’s Creed movie and now they have found their financer and distributor. New Regency have joined forces with Ubisoft to bring the Assassin’s Creed movie, starring Michael Fassbender, to the big screen.
With Michael Fassbender already on board and now New Regency agreeing to finance and distribute the movie, the race is now on to get a writer preparing a script for Assassin’s Creed the movie. As well as a writer, they will also be searching for a director to helm the project.

The majority of video game adaptations have struggled to be a success on the big screen but the Resident Evil franchise proves that it is possible. Assassin’s Creed has the potential to emulate the success of Resident Evil and with the right writer and director in place, it has the chance of being a big film.
