While the Harry Potter movies made global superstars of a lot of its young actors, there were also plenty of well established names in the movie franchise, bringing a huge amount of credibility to the series. While Michael Gambon did not appear in all of the Harry Potter films, he was still one of the biggest names involved in the films.
Michael Gambon took on the role of Albus Dumbledore, following the death of actor Richard Harris, for the movie Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and continued in the role for the remainder of the series. The Harry Potter movies came to an end back in 2011 but Michael has continued to work hard in the industry.
While Gambon has not been as active as many would have hoped, he has still appeared in a number of television shows and movies in the past few years. His television credits have seen him appear in five episodes of the series Luck, as well as having guest appearances in the mini-series Quirke, as well as appearing in Lucan and Restless. Meanwhile, Michael Gambon appeared in the movie Quartet with Maggie Smith and Billy Connolly, while he will be seen in the animated movie Ivan the Fool in 2017.
At the age of 73, it is no surprise that Michael Gambon is not as active in the industry as he once was but, one thing is for sure, he is still one of the best actors going and we cannot wait to see more from him in the future.
