Following the recent news that Kanye West had moved past Michael Jackson on the list of tracks to make it onto the Billboard Top 100, there were a lot of angry people who did not feel that Kanye's name should even be mentioned in the same breath as the late great legend that is Michael Jackson. However, it seems that Michael would not have minded Kanye overtaking him on the list.
According to recent reports, Michael Jackson's daughter Paris Jackson responded to an angry fan, telling them that they should appreciate the music and enjoy it all for what it is. Apparently, Paris also went on to say that her father was actually a fan of Kanye West and that it was Michael who first introduced her to his music.
She supposedly wrote, "The first time I ever heard Kanye’s heartbreak album was from my dad, he played it for me all the time. He liked him. He never saw music as a competition or a game, never had a motive to talk s**t about other artists. It was always about the love and respect and appreciation for music. So if someone breaks a new record, be happy for them. They worked hard for it and they earned it. Don’t be angry or jealous or bias. Music is music and if it’s good it deserves recognition."
With Kanye West making it to 40 hits, surpassing Michael Jackson on 39, it now puts him up to ninth on the list and we are sure that he will be doing his very best to continue rising up that list. We cannot see him every making it to the number one spot though, which is still held by Elvis Presley with 80.
