Michael Jai White is the co-writer/star of the blaxploitation film "Black Dynamite" and the show has become so popular that it has received a second season request for new episodes which will hit the airwaves of Adult Swim in October 2014.
The actor and his collaborators, co-writer Byron Minns and executive producer/director Carl Jones recently spoke with Indiewire about the show in New York.
The exceptionally fit actor admitted that at first everything was going over his head but his performances were exceptional as indicated by no one less than Adult Swim Senior Executive Vice President Mike Lazzo who described his voice acting as some of best he had ever heard.
The actor revealed that he now understands that every moment that is on the page can become funny onscreen and he has embraced it. For him, the creation process has been unique because he has so many projects ongoing and thus they are almost never able to get the cast in one room because of their schedules. As such he is usually recording his scenes by himself and it is working out very well and has filmmakers looking at him as someone who they need to consider for other voice work in their films.
For many in the entertainment industry the thought of an actor who is considered to have one of the best bodies in Hollywood, a martial arts superstar to be so sensational as a voice actor is a testament to his dramatic acting range and also his creativity and boldness. Some critics are still talking about how the show "Black Dynamite" satirized Michael Jackson and yet did it in a manner that did not receive huge backlash is a testament to the writing and acting of which he is a major part.
Michael Jai White is ready to play "Black Dynamite" in 2014 and plans to make it an even more appealing animation show for the audience, a prospect that has both his fans and filmmakers in Hollywood excited and looking forward to October 2014.
