Terence Stamp has appeared in a number of hit movies over the years but he will forever be remembered as General Zod in the Superman movies. Now, Michael Shannon has taken on the role of Zod for the Zack Snyder movie Man of Steel and Terence believes he will be fantastic.
During an interview with The Playlist, Stamp said, “Well, I’m sure he’s going to be fantastic because it’s a fantastic role. All I can say is he needs to be very present. When I walked onto that set I’d been an ashram for a year, learning to separate orgasm from ejaculation.”
He added, “I was rechannelling the lifeforce and I hadn’t been working, and when I walked on the set, it seemed like everyone was asleep, but I was so, so ready. The only guy who was really up for it was Brando -- he totally understood where I was coming from.”
As well as starring Michael Shannon as General Zod, Man of Steel also stars Henry Cavill as Clark Kent aka Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Russell Crowe as Jor-El. Man of Steel is set to be released on June 14, 2013 in both the US and the UK.
