Actor Michael Welch is best known for his role as Mike Newton in the sensational hit saga, ad thriller Twilight (2009-11). Mike is one of the first people to welcome Bella to her new high school, and immediately forms a huge crush on her, making grand overtures of friendliness trying to win her over, but to no avail.
This talented young actor has a penchant for playing roles that highlight his intensity in character, such as Ben Jacobs in the thriller Unrequited (2010). Ben is tortured young man with a troubled past who kidnaps his ex-girlfriend, trying to win back her heart. He has also made appearances in similar genre television series such as CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2002-9), and Criminal Minds (2010) which edge on the side of grim acts of violence.
Welch also has the capacity to play lighter roles, and pull them off well. His first role was as the young Niles in the hit comedy TV series Frasier (1998). He also portrayed Norman Hayes in the comedic crime series Bones (2011). In a recent film, Hansel and Gretel Get Baked (2013), Michael landed a starring role as Hansel, in a combination comedy and horror genre. Michael has done well this year in his current roles as Howard in The Demented (2013), Quentin in the musical drama Grace Unplugged (2013), and as Jake in the “one night stand” episode of the television series Grimm (2013).
With 80 credits in his repertoire, Michael is doing well for himself, and is in the process, keeping his fans happy. He has several new projects he has been working on including The Well (2013), Chasing Eagle Rock (2013), The Grounds (2014), Rough Hustle (2014), Boys of Abu Ghraib (2014) Cawdor (2014), Boy Meets Girl (2014) and Significance (2014).
