
Michelle Williams talks Oscar nomination
The 2012 Academy Awards are just around the corner and former Dawsons Creek actress Michelle Williams has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in My Week With Marilyn. Michelle has admitted how she feels very grateful to get the recognition from the Academy and admitted that it is a testament to the legacy of Marilyn Monroe.
Williams explained, "I am so grateful to be acknowledged by the Academy for my work, which was made possible by the support of our director Simon Curtis and the camaraderie of a terrific ensemble of actors. A special congratulations to Kenneth Branagh and the fearless Harvey Weinstein."
She added, "This role has been the challenge and privilege of a lifetime. I would like to think that the recognition our film has received by the Academy is a testament to Marilyn's legacy." Michelle Williams face stiff competition in the Best Actress category from Glenn Close (Albert Nobbs), Viola Davis (The Help), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Meryl Streep (The Iron Lady). This years Oscars are set to take place on February 26, 2012 live on exclusively on ABC.
