The new Sam Raimi movie Oz the Great and Powerful is released this week and everybody involved in the movie will be hoping that it is successful enough for a sequel to be made. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams star in the movie and they have been discussing a potential sequel.

Kunis was discussing a future sequel with E! when she explained, "We're all signed on for sequels," while Weisz was a little less definite about a sequel, adding, "I hope so. If there is one, I'd love to be in it," and Williams admitted she would definitely come back, "Wherever Sam goes, I'll go. I'd do anything Sam asks me to do. I'd get stuck in quicksand with him," she said.
As for the director himself, we Sam Raimi seemed even more unsure about an Oz the Great and Powerful sequel, stating, I'm not signed up for a sequel and I have no plans right now to make a sequel. I don't know where Disney is with that. They are probably waiting to see what the critical response is and what the audience response is and how well it does at the box office."

Sam certainly makes a valid point, as Disney will definitely want to see a hefty return on the $200m budget that went into making Oz the Great and Powerful, before giving the sequel the green light. Oz the Great and Powerful is released in both the US and the UK tomorrow (March 8).
