Although there has been several weeks of speculation on whether Miranda Kerr was getting fired from Victoria's Secret, the rumors temporarily faded when VS spokespersons denied the rumors. However, Kerr herself has now confirmed her departure from VS, citing time constraints as the major reason.
In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Kerr explained her departure, saying, "I'm just not in a position to commit to a full contract at this time. It's three months at a bare minimum." She added, "This is a natural evolution. The thing is, I've been modeling since I was 13. I'm now entering a new phase in my life. I have felt this coming since my son was born and, after I became a mother, I realized I needed to prioritize my time.”
Kerr also spoke up about the articles published in People and US Weekly, the ones that stated that Kerr was 'difficult' to work with. Kerr says, "I’m sure anyone that has worked with me would agree that it’s not true."
Although Kerr's contract for VS is not being renewed, she will probably still appear in runway shows as well as VS catalogues. Her working relationship with VS still seems to be strong based on their comments about her last week, so the departure seems to be amicable, at least publicly.
