Australian supermodel Miranda Kerr is one of the biggest and best models that the industry has to offer, working with some of the top names from the modelling world during her career. As well as enjoying a successful modelling career, Miranda has also had a fairly happy family life, having a baby son named Flynn with British Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom.
While Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom have now split up, the couple are still very good friends and still have a very strong relationship, which is definitely going to benefit the upbringing of their son Flynn. Miranda has often spoken about life as a parent and she has now revealed how motherhood has changed her life for the better.
Kerr explained, "I used to be in two different countries every single week. I made a conscious decision to shift gears. I’m very much a people-pleaser at heart – I feel that if everyone else is happy, then I’m happy – but I’m learning the power of saying no and putting my foot down. That started when I was pregnant, because I had an excuse, which was the greater good of my son. I really enjoyed that whole experience – I totally surrendered my body."
As well as experiencing the huge changes that her body went through during her pregnancy, Miranda Kerr also went on to admit that she was not sure whether she would still have a modelling career once she had given birth. Not that she would have been too bothered by it, as Miranda insists that having a baby is the proudest moment of her life.
Kerr added, "Because I was with Victoria’s Secret at the time, I did wonder whether I would bounce back and return to work. Who knew? I didn’t. But I’m interested in doing so many other things that I felt it wasn’t the end of the world either way. Being a mother has brought so much to my life. It’s the thing I’m most proud of. I feel like I was born with a very happy spirit and my son has the same joy."
Fortunately for us all though, Miranda Kerr did return to modelling and we hope she stays there for many years to come.
