When it comes to a James Bond movie, one of the important factors to have a successful film is to cast the right actresses as the Bond Girls and, over the course of the many James Bond movies, we have had some fantastic Bond Girls along the way. With the new movie Spectre getting ever closer to its big release date, we are getting to hear more about what to expect from the Bond Girls in the film.
As you will all be very aware by now, Spectre is set to have two women vying for the attention of James Bond, with Monica Bellucci playing Lucia Sciarra, while Lea Seydoux will play Madeleine Swan. The two actresses have now opened up about their characters in the movie, giving us a better understanding of what to expect from them.
Speaking about her character, Bellucci explained, "She's an Italian widow with secrets. Her first husband was killed and she risks the same thing happening to her." Meanwhile, Seydoux also spoke about her own character, adding, "She's a doctor, she's intelligent and a very sensitive and human character."
Meanwhile, director Sam Mendes also had plenty to say about both characters, "In Spectre, the two women who Bond hooks up with - both have great mystery, they both have depths and for that you need fantastic actresses. And I just thought: Monica Bellucci ... She's an incredibly seductive presence in life and in the movie. [Seydoux] needed to be soulful, feisty and complicated, and I think it's a pivotal relationship. So it probably couldn't be a total newcomer because it needed someone with a certain amount of life experience, maturity."
Daniel Craig makes his fourth appearance as James Bond in Spectre, which is set to hit the big screen on October 26 in the UK, before then opening in the US on November 6.
