Morgan Freeman’s appearance on CNN will sure to be remembered for some time as he took advantage of his air time by ranting about the “racist” Tea Party and condemning the rate of gain they have been making in the states.
Morgan Freeman is one of the most respected actors in Hollywood, his role in The Shawshank Redemption where he played Ellis Boyd Redding opposite Tim Robbins propelled him as an actor to a whole different level. Morgan Freeman argued that racism in the United States has increased, where he expected it to decrease when President Barack Obama got into power., Freeman held back no punches placing part of the blame at the Tea Party saying "Their stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term" he went onto talk about how he viewed their stance, he said "We're[Tea Party] going to whatever we do to get this black man, we can, we're going to do whatever we can to get this black man outta here [Barack Obama]."
In an interview which see Morgan Freeman get increasingly more emotional and frustrated the more he spoke he condemned the rise of popularity the party has seen in the country saying "We're supposed to be better than that. We really are".
Back in 2008 Morgan Freeman was a keen supporter of Barack Obama, and continues to be today, he did however opt not to campaign in an official capacity for him as he cited that “he was an actor, not a politician”, but this time round, it appears that Morgan Freeman might just be willing to do whatever it takes to keep Obama in office, and the Tea Party out of it.
