While there has yet to be any official confirmation about which Marvel superheroes will be appearing in Joss Whedon's The Avengers 2, there has been plenty of talk about the possibility of Black Panther appearing in the movie. Now it seems that the battle is on for who will play the character.

Morris Chestnut has hinted at the possibility of Black Panther appearing in The Avengers 2, clearing putting his name forward for the role. Morris took to his official Twitter account to say, "Not final. #BlackPanther may be in #avengers2 first."
Meanwhile, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje has previously stated, "I would hope that playing Kurse would ingratiate me to becoming the Panther. You get in and have success in one, and you go and do the next one. [My campaign] is definitely not dropped. He's one of my faves. I would love to play him."

There are plenty of talented black actors around who could lay claim to the role of Black Panther for The Avengers movie but, until anything has been officially confirmed about which Marvel characters will be appearing, we will just have to wait and see what happens.
