There have been a lot of artist making a huge impact on the music scene in 2011, from your more established singers, such as Adele and Justin Bieber, to your newer performers, such as the successful reality television acts like Scotty McCreery and One Direction. However, we have decided to choose somebody who has worked hard to get the success that she deserves.

Christina Perri has been working on her dream of becoming a world renowned musician for quite a few years now and it is only really this year that she has been receiving the recognition that her talent deserves. The 25 year old singer and songwriter moved from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania when she was 21, to chase her dream of becoming a music star in Los Angeles, California.
Unfortunately for Christina, it did not quite work out and she moved back home in 2009. But, as the old saying goes, every cloud has a silver lining, and it was during this period of her life, that Christina penned her biggest hit Jar of Hearts, which would catapult her to stardom. The song is one of the biggest hits of the year and gave this talented musician the break she deserved.
What a lot of people do not know about Jar of Hearts, is that it was originally released in 2010 but after its success on shows such as Glee and The X Factor this year, it became a huge hit around the world. Christina Perri not only sings and writes her own songs but she also plays the guitar and the piano and is capable of performing in a number of different genres.
