Although we don't know much about David O. Russell's Abscam project, including what the official title is, we do know that the film is currently filming in Boston as its stars Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams were caught out in the city. The previous titles have been American Bullshit and the Abscam Project, but neither seemed to stick. A few details, including the synopsis, release date, and filmign dates, have all been released courtesy of On Location Vacations [via ONTD]

Jeremy Renner stars in David O. Russell's Abscam film
The rough synopsis for the film has been released, and it stars Christian Bale in the role of a 'financial con man', Amy Adams in the role of his girlfriend/mistress, and Bradley Cooper in the role of the OTT federal agent who catches them. Bale and Adams' characters are then offered a deal in exchange for helping the feds take on Jeremy Renner's character, the charismatic leader of the New Jersey State Assembly. Jennifer Lawrence is rumored to be playing Christian Bale's character's wife, and Louis CK's role has yet to be released.
Boston Casting is currently said to be looking for vintage cars for the shoot, which is said to be lasting from March 18th to May19th, although filming is said to be in NYC for some point during that time frame.

Bradley Cooper will play a federal agent in the film
David O. Russell is coming right off a huge success with Silver Linings Playbook, and many people are predicting that he'll repeat with this film, especially with such a strong cast. Considering that the film is based on a true story, and the script is said to be phenomenal, there's a very strong chance that the film is aiming for an awards run. Of course, the distributors seem to be thinking similarly since they just set the release date for Christmas Day, just in time for the holiday blockbuster season as well as awards season.
