It has been confirmed that Sony are set to push ahead with a new live action movie based on the 1980s cartoon classic He-Man. Sony have extended their contract with the film production Escape Artist until 2015 and one of the key movies they are looking to make is He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. Let’s just hope that they do a better job than the 1987 attempt with Dolph Lundgren.
Details on the latest attempt of a new He-Man movie are currently very scarce but it has been confirmed by some key executives that the movie is definitely going to be made. Talk of a new He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie had been circulating for some time but the new deal between Sony and Escape Artist is set to bring the project to life.
So far, all that is really known about the new He-Man movie is that Mike Finch and Alex Litvak, who worked together on the 2010 movie Predators, are currently penning a screenplay for the film. It was also last thought that John Stevenson will be set to direct the project, however that is yet to be confirmed. Expect production on He-Man and the Masters of the Universe to begin in the coming year and to hit the big screen in 2014.
