It was that time of year again last night, the biggest sporting event on the planet and, as always, it came with some very impressive movie spots. One such movie to feature a Super Bowl spot is the highly anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness which gave us a new look last night.

The new Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl spot gave us a good look at Chris Pine’s Captain Kirk coming face to face with Benedict Cumberbatch’s John Harrison. While it is only 33 seconds long, it does seriously raise the excitement levels and, with just a few months until its release, fans are desperate for any taste of Star Trek Into Darkness that they can get.
Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller. Star Trek Into Darkness is directed by J.J. Abrams, based on the screenplay developed by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Damon Lindelof and is set to be released on May 17 in both the US and the UK.
