The Tomb Raider video games continue to be hugely successful, so it is no surprise that there were again plans to try to bring the Tomb Raider franchise back to the big screen. The fans of the video games were quick to put forward a lot of names for who they would love to see playing the role of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider movie, before it was finally announced who had bagged the role.
When it was confirmed that Oscar-winning actress Alicia Vikander had been cast in the role of Lara Croft in the new Tomb Raider film, many fans were split on whether they thought it was a good choice. After seeing the first images of the actress playing the character, some fans began to come round to the idea, while some were still unsure. Now, the new Tomb Raider trailer has been released, and it seems that the fans are still split.
After viewing the Tomb Raider trailer, one excited fan beamed, "Just saw the Tomb Raider trailer and already love Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. She is gonna smash it." However, a less than impressed fan moaned, "You only have to look at the way Alicia Vikander runs to know she is all wrong for this movie. She runs like a girl. Lara Croft is a badass and doesn't run like that. This will bomb."
It seems that there are clearly some fans who are willing to pick on the smallest possible thing, in order to discredit Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in Tomb Raider. We actually liked the trailer and are going to give the movie a chance before making our verdict on things. Tomb Raider is set to hit the big screen on March 16, 2018 in both the US and the UK.
