World Cup 2014 is now in full swing and host nation Brazil are back in action, following their impressive opener against Croatia last week with a 3-1 win. Two of those goals were scored by their star man Neymar, who many were expecting to set the tournament alight, and Neymar will look to produce some more magic against Mexico later today.
Fans and critics alike believe that Neymar has the talent to outshine everyone else at World Cup 2014, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, and even Mexico captain Rafael Marquez is worried about the threat. Rafael says that the Mexico team have worked on ways to stop Neymar, by preventing the striker from playing his own game.
Marquez explained, "We have to cover, have two against one, be fast and reduce the spaces on the pitch - do not let [Neymar] play. It was a good win [against Cameroon] and very important. Against Brazil, it will surely be a very difficult game."
He added, "We know the talent of Neymar, Oscar, Hulk but we will train in ways to handle them. We have to make the most of this opportunity - it is a showcase for all of us. For many of them it is an opportunity to go up one more level. This is something that rarely happens."
While Brazil beat Croatia 3-1 in their opening match at the World Cup, Mexico also got off to a very solid start, with a fairly comfortable 1-0 win against Cameroon. Brazil v Mexico should make for an interesting game but we believe that Brazil will have too much for Mexico and win the game quite comfortably. What do you think?
