American football player Aaron Hernandez has been charged with the murder of a semi-professional player, after being arrested earlier today (Wednesday, June 26). Aaron was charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd, after his body was found not far from Hernandez home.
Odin Lloyd's body was found at an industrial park just a mile from Aaron Hernandez's house on June 17, with multiple gunshots to the back of the chest. Police investigators searched in and around Aaron's home on several occasions leading up to the stars arrest.
The prosecutors of the case claim that Aaron Hernandez killed Odin Lloyd following a dispute that the two men had in a Boston nightclub on June 14. It is also said that Lloyd knew that Hernandez was upset with him when the two met up on June 17.
The New England Patriots drafted Aaron Hernandez back in 2010 but have decided to terminate his contract following the charges. A statement from the team read, "We realise that law enforcement investigations into this matter are ongoing. We support their efforts and respect the process. At this time, we believe this transaction is simply the right thing to do."
Odin Lloyd was a 27-year-old semi-professional player for the Boston Bandits, may he rest in peace.
