In a new interview with the Daily Beast while promoting his film ‘Warm Bodies’, Hoult came to the topic of long-distance relationships and what went wrong with his relationship with long-time girlfriend Jennifer Lawrence.
Although the two had been dating for almost two years, they called it quits about a month back, and surprisingly, it seems to be a pretty amicable breakup.
Although he doesn’t mention Lawrence by name, Hoult does touch upon the topic of the breakup, saying, “It’s tricky, because you’re all over the place. We were shooting Mad Max: Fury Road for seven months in Namibia, so you’re never really in one place, and when you are, they’re strange places that are difficult to get to. I wouldn’t change it, because you’re very fortunate to travel, meet new people, and embark on these new experiences, but it’s not great for that side of things. But I don’t really worry about that stuff in the press. Storm in a teacup is how I describe it.”
Hoult seems the rare actor that is as charming off-screen as he is on-screen, and he carries himself with the kind of class that seems to be missing in his generation of actors. Both he and Lawrence have been carrying off this breakup with aplomb, and neither of them has made any snide remarks about each other or leaked anything to the press about the breakup. It really does seem amicable, which will definitely be useful when it comes to working together again during the shooting of the X-Men sequel, ‘Days of Future Past’.
