About a Boy actor Nicholas Hoult has come a long way since starring alongside Hugh Grant in that 2002 movie. Since then, Nicholas has appeared in the hit television series Skins, which has led to him becoming a global Hollywood movie star.
Now, it has been reported that Nicholas Hoult has signed on to play the lead role in the movie Birdsong, which will see him collaborating with director Rupert Wyatt, who has taken on Birdsong as his first project since the success of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
Birdsong is based on the Sebastian Faulks novel of the same name and centers around a young Englishman (Hoult), who strikes up a romantic relationship with a young Frenchwoman, before he then has to head off and fight in the war. When speaking about Nicholas Hoult, Rupert Wyatt called him the Holy Grail of a leading man.
Nicholas Hoult has become a very busy actor, with Warm Bodies being released a few weeks ago, while Jack the Giant Slayer is set to hit the big screen next month, as well filming X-Men: Days of Future Past later this year. As for Birdsong, that is expected to begin shooting later in the year, with the view to a Fall 2014 release date.
