When it comes to the music industry, you will often find that some of the top stars in the business enjoy collaborating with others, as they feel that working with different stars will inspire them to improve as an artist. Music superstar Nicki Minaj has worked with a number of different stars overt the years and she always tries to take something from working with other musicians.
Nicki Minaj has found herself receiving three Grammy nominations, which includes the Best Rap Performace for Truffle Butter, which she worked on with Drake and Lil Wayne. Nicki has now been reminiscing about collaborating with the two male music stars, revealing just what she learned from working with them.
During a recent interview with Hits Daily Double, Minaj said of Lil Wayne, "Well, I loved the fact that Wayne didn’t write his lyrics down—he just memorized them. In the studio, he’d stress the importance of me writing my verses quicker than I’d become accustomed to. So it made me better and more confident."
Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj then went on to reveal what she liked most about working with Drake, adding, "With Drake, he spent a lot of time narrowing down the actual beat he wanted to rap on. It was great for a young artist to pay attention to that."
As well as being nominated for the Best Rap Performance, Nicki Minaj has also been nominated for the Best Rap Album for The Pinkprint, and Best Rap Collaboration for Only. The Grammys are set to take place on February 15.
