Hollywood actor Nicolas Cage has had a very interesting career to date, giving us some simply magnificent performances, while also giving us some rather terrible ones along the way. Next up for Nicolas Cage is the movie Left Behind and the actor has been talking about his role in the film, in particular, what it was that drew him to taking on the role.
Cage explained, "My brother Mark is a Pastor, and he was the one that really wanted me to do this. He kept saying 'Nicky I really think you should make this movie.' It's a great series of books. He was the one who inspired me to look at it, I would talk with him about it and clearly he is very immersed in all this so that was interesting and he was excited about it."
For those of you who do not know much about the movie Left Behind, it has been officially described as "A small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction."
As well as starring Nicolas Cage, the rest of the Left Behind cast includes the likes of Lea Thompson, Chad Michael Murray, Nicky Whelan, Cassi Thomson, and Jordin Sparks, among others. Left Behind is directed by Vic Armstrong, based on a screenplay developed by Paul LaLonde and John Patus, from the novels, with a release date set for October 3 in the US, while the UK are still awaiting an official release date.
