Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy says that it is his destiny to return to politics. This combined with other rumors show that it looks like he will be running in the next French election - against current President and person who defeated him in the last election Francois Hollande.
In a recent interview with a French magazine he said "The question is not to know if I want or don't want to return. I cannot not return. I don't have a choice. It's destiny. Destiny". Since retiring he has been making good money on the lecture circuit and some sources say he has been looking to make some strides in business - although if these rumors are true it looks like he has put that on the back burner and now wants to return to the political fold.
It might make sense as recent polls put Nicolas Sarkozy at significantly higher than current president Hollande, nearly double the percentage in one poll.
Sarkozy has hinted that he may form a new party to run, although he may not be able to due to current investigations into political scandals he has been accused of. If polls stay as they are however Nicolas Sarkozy could be starting his second term as French President in 2014 and Hollande will be out.
