The Hours actress Nicole Kidman has revealed how she had to lean on her then husband Tom Cruise for support during public appearances. Nicole claims that she used to be such a shy person that she would panic if Tom left her alone at public events, as she could not handle the situation.

Kidman told Harper’s Bazaar, “In those early years, it was like, 'I'm here and I'm clutching onto your arm and it all feels a little overwhelming and really strange'. And I was shy. Deeply shy. I didn't feel comfortable at all. But I felt very comfortable at home.”
She added, "[I'm attracted to] a bigger, stronger personality; that's what I've been drawn to. I need protection. Everyone wants to feel someone's got their back.” Nicole then went on to claim that she has now found the inner strength that she needed, thanks to her husband Keith Urban.

“He just gave me confidence through just being very kind to me and understanding me. Opening me up to trying things, my sexuality, those sorts of things,” continued Kidman
Nicole Kidman can currently be seen starring alongside Zac Efron in the movie The Paperboy.
