There have always been different trends taking place in Hollywood over the years and we have seen a number of novels being adapted into movies, video games being adapted for the big screen, comic book films and much more along the way. Well, it seems that the latest trend to take place in the acting industry, is to take a classic movie and to adapt it for the small screen.
Following the success of the TV version of Grease, it seems that we can expect to see plenty more classic films coming to the small screen over the course of the coming years. Next up is the small screen adaptation of the classic film Dirty Dancing, which was made famous by Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze and is loved and adored by millions of people around the world.
The casting is pretty much complete for the Dirty Dancing TV movie, with Nicole Scherzinger taking on the role of Penny in the film, and it sounds as if the stunning star is very excited to get started on the project. Nicole is a fantastic singer and dancer, so it is going to be interesting to see whether her acting talent can also be just as impressive.
As well as featuring Nicole Scherzinger in the role of Penny, the rest of the cast for the Dirty Dancing TV movie includes, Abigail Breslin as Baby, Colt Prattes as Johnny, Sarah Hyland as Lisa, and Debra Messing as Marjorie. Production for the Dirty Dancing remake is expected to begin later in the year, with the movie expected to air on ABC before the end of the year.
