American singer Nicole Scherzinger decided to quit in her role as a judge for the new season of The X Factor so that she could focus on her own music career and release a new record that she could be proud of. Nicole has been in the studio working on her new album and she has been talking about what has influenced some of the tracks on the record.
While a lot of artists in the music industry tend to draw on their experiences in their relationships for a lot of the tracks on their records, it seems that Nicole Scherzinger is a little different. Nicole has been in an on and off relationship with F1 star Lewis Hamilton but she has insisted that her relationship with him has not influenced any of her songs on her new album.
Scherzinger told The Daily Star, "This album is about the women I am, the women I'm not and the woman I want to be. There's a lot of stuff on my album girls can relate to. You gotta be in the slums and have a broken heart, that's when music transports you and heals. I'm an artist, he doesn't come into it. I'm sure if he heard some of the music he would be able to relate to it as anybody would."
Meanwhile, Nicole Scherzinger stated that one of the biggest influences for her new album has been singer Sam Smith, as she has spent a lot of time listening to his record In the Lonely Hour and wants to hit a similar tone to that of his album.
