There are a lot of people who still love to criticise the hit television series The X Factor, claiming that the show is ruining the music industry but, what these people are missing, is the fact that The X Factor has given us some of the biggest music acts around. One Direction are the biggest boyband on the planet and they were put together on The X Factor.
Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik all auditioned for The X Factor as solo artists but were not deemed good enough to go through individually. Nicole Scherzinger was a guest judge on the show, standing in for Cheryl Cole, when One Direction were put together, and she insists that she was responsible for the boyband being made.
Scherzinger was chatting to Heat magazine, when she joked, "I'm happy for their success. I can't believe I put together the group and then I'm at Walmart buying One Direction bags for my nieces. Like, something is wrong with this picture!"
She added, "Can you guys please send me a box of One Direction goodies? Somebody help me out here. Not only do I not get a cut, but now I'm buying bags for my nieces, with the boys' faces on it. I was like, 'What?'... Where's my cut? Seriously? I'm a giver, what can I say? I gave the world One Direction."
Nicole Scherzinger then went on to become a permanent judge on The X Factor, before deciding to quit the show this year, as she wants to focus on her own music career.
