Hollywood actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has been acting in the business for a very long time now, taking on his fair share of exciting roles, both on the big screen and the small screen, with the actor probably being best known for playing the role of Jamie Lannister in the hit television series Game of Thrones, which opened up even more doors for the talented star.
We will next get to see Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in the upcoming new movie Shot Caller and the actor had to do plenty of research for his role in the film. Nikolaj has now been talking about going to meet actual prisoners and learning about the prison system, admitting that it was one of the biggest challenges that he has ever had to face as an actor.
Coster-Waldau explained, "One of the things I love about my job is that you get to educate yourself and you get to be exposed to things you haven't before. I learned so much about [the prison] system. Once you get institutionalised, how that affects you... to actually meet former prisoners was very challenging and very exciting. Everyone looks so tough and mean but when you talk to them they tell you they have to do that. Everyone is s**t-scared all the time."
Shot Caller sees Nikolaj Coster-Waldau sharing the big screen with the likes of Jon Bernthal, Lake Bell, and Benjamin Bratt, to name just a few. Ric Roman Waugh wrote and directed Shot Caller, which is set to hit the big screen on December 15 in the UK, having already been released in the US earlier in the year.
