Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to replace Alex Ferguson as Manchester United boss?

It has been confirmed that Manchester United have started to draw up a profile for the type of manager that they would like to see succeed current boss Alex Ferguson when he retires. Alex has admitted that he feels he has at least three more seasons left in him and Manchester United are preparing themselves for his eventual retirement.

There will be plenty of names thrown around between now and when Alex Ferguson does finally retire but one person who is not doing his chances any harm is, former Manchester United striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Ole has already been getting plenty of attention from English teams, including Aston Villa and Birmingham but has chosen to stay where he is for now.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer returned to Norway in 2010 to take over as boss of Molde and has been a huge success in his two years with the club. In his first season, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer led Molde to their first ever league title and he is following that this season with another title push. Molde are currently joint top with five games remaining and Solskjaer is proving he has the ability to handle the pressure of being at the top.

If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can continue this sort of success over the next two or three seasons, he will put himself in prime position to take over from Alex Ferguson as Manchester United boss. However, that is still a long way away and a lot can happen before then.
