Starz has signed Omari Hardwick to star in new crime drama, Power. Power is Hardwick's first starring role in a television series, but it is not the only work is only acting credit for this year.
Curtis Jackson aka 50 Cent will serve as executive producer of the show, the show is created by Courtney Kemp Agboh, a producer for The Good Wife. Power is set in the underground New York City night life and Omari Hardwick will play James St. Patrick, who is known on the streets as Ghost. Furthermore St. Patrick is a nightclub owner who is living a double life, which unbeknownst to his family and friends, Ghost is a drug kingpin in New York who caters to a high-level clientele.
The show is focused on his struggle with his double life and now that his nightclub is a Fortune 500 business he is tempted to leave it all behind. Production for the drama has already begun with it slated for a 2014 premiere, and they are filming at different locations within New York City's five boroughs.
In the meantime, you can catch Hardwick in Things Never Said. Last week, the movie was released on DVD, Hardwick ironically plays a character named Curtis Jackson.
It has been a busy year for Omari Hardwick, and all signs point to an even more productive 2014 for the Georgia born actor.
