One Direction and The Wanted are both making it big in America, unfortunately (or fortunately) at the same time. Of course, there are endless comparisons, both of their singing style, dancing style, and the actual band mates themselves. However, One Direction’s Liam Payne says that the Wanted only have themselves to blame for the comparisons.

In an interview with Now, Liam says, “"To be honest, we haven't really got a problem with anyone. We've never really said anything about it. We've kind of ignored it. But for me, The Wanted have made their career more about us than anything else. They've only got themselves to blame. They do their dance music and we'll do our rock'n'roll kind of thing. They've constantly compared us in the press. They rose to the bait, whereas we've said they can do what they want. When we first spoke to them, when we were on the X Factor, they were really nice. But then you hear these stories and can't quite believe what people are saying.
He adds that competition is healthy for them, although the Wanted may not agree after being mistaken for One Direction when presenting at this year’s VMA awards. He says, "It's not very good for them, is it? But competition is healthy, so we're not worried.”
The Wanted may not be the only band that One Direction is having issues with, as there was reportedly a spat between them and Van Halen in a hotel lobby recently.
