It slowly seems like One Direction is taking over the world – after capturing worldwide attention with their music and debut album and becoming a boy band sensation across the world, the 1D boys are now set to be immortalized on the silver screen.
The boys were on the set of NBC’s Today show [via LA Times] when they revealed that they will be filming a One Direction movie, to be released next year. "We are gonna do our first-ever movie," said Niall Horan, and it’s "going to be in 3-D."
It is said to be directed by Morgan Spurlock, the director of ‘Supersize Me’ and ‘Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?’ Spurlock said in a statement, “This is an incredible opportunity and an amazing moment in time for the band.”
The film will be produced by Simon Cowell, the group’s seemingly unofficial mentor, and he also said in a statement, "Morgan is the perfect person to give that access-all-areas, behind-the-scenes look into what it's like to be One Direction today.” The film is following the likes of Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and the Jonas Brothers in being 3D. It will no doubt be enormously successful, but we’ll have it to wait until next year to confirm that for sure.
