Union J has revealed in a recent interview that One Direction has wished them luck and told them that they will be massively successful.

One Direction when they were competing on the X Factor
At the X Factor finale, Heatworld reports that Union J told them, “We spoke to One Direction backstage. Liam was saying, 'You guys are going to be so successful' and wished us all the best of luck. They're really nice lads. They're like friends, we're getting to know them. We've seen them a few times now. There's no rivalry there at all - we'd love to be as successful as them."
Josh Cuthbert of Union J also explained that it was strange getting back to a regular routine without the show, saying, “It's been really weird not living with the boys this week. When I got home I felt a bit lost. We enjoyed tonight, obviously we were gutted it wasn't us in the final three but it's another chance to perform in front of millions so it was great fun."

Louis Walsh in his judging duties on X Factor
So is it possible that Union J will become as popular as One Direction? After all, both bands got their start on the X Factor and both have large female fanbases, although Union J’s is just starting to get bigger. Union J is currently managed by Louis Walsh, who has also repped the popular Girls Aloud during their heyday in the music world. Louis is said to believe that Union J could be as big as One Direction, and as of yesterday, the band is set to be fielding multiple ‘lavish’ record deals, one even reportedly with Simon Cowell’s record label.
