One Direction have a lot to thank The X Factor for, even though they did not win the reality singing competition when they were contestants on it. In fact, One Direction only came third in 2010 but have since gone on to become a global phenomenon and singer Louis Tomlinson has admitted that he, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Zayn Malik and Niall Horan would all love to perform on the show again.
Tomlinson explained after appearing on Saturday’s show as an advisor, “It’s really weird being back on the X Factor stage. Walking through those doors always made us nervous and it kinda feels like you’re back in the competition.”
He added, “Being interviewed by Dermot O’Leary brings all the old nerves back. We would love to come back and perform before Christmas. The X Factor is our home and we love it.”
The One Direction boys have also been discussing who they think should win The X Factor this year and while they originally back singer James Arthur, Louis admits that he has now changed his mind and would prefer 16 year old Ella to win, “Ella blew us all away. We thought she was amazing,” he added.
The X Factor continues on ITV1 this Saturday with the results show on Sunday.
