Argo wins the Best Picture this year, and beats Lincoln, Zero Dark Thirty, and Silver Linings Playbook to do so. The producers who accepted the award include George Clooney, Ben Affleck, and Grant Heslov.

Argo received 7 nominations tonight
The win, while not a surprise, was largely due to Ben Affleck's snub during the initial nominations - Oscar prognosticians have been saying that the snub lead to a huge sympathy vote for Argo, and led to the huge surge in momentum that caused it to win Best Picture.
Grant Heslov gave a very moving speech on stage, thanking Ben Affleck on their behalf for directing a 'hell of a film'. Ben Affleck also thanks Steven Spielberg for being an inspiration, and he rushed his thanks to his family, his friends, and everyone over at Warner Brothers. However, Clooney did not get a chance to say a single word, largely due to Affleck and Heslov's long speeches.

Ben Affleck was snubbed for Best Director for 'Argo'
The film has been very successful at the box office, and it sure to get a big bump due to its Best Picture win. Overall, a great end to a fantastic ceremony and certainly some surprise wins tonight.
