There are a lot of big stars in Hollywood these days, with some of them putting in some fantastic performances in some brilliant roles over the course of their careers to date. Winning an Oscar is a dream for any actor and, while we have seen some less than amazing actors win an Academy Award over the years, there are some more deserving that have yet to do so.
One such actor, who has put in some sensational performances in his career, is actor Leonardo DiCaprio and it is surprising to think that such a talented star has yet to win an Oscar. Leonardo has received plenty of Academy Award nominations in his career but, unfortunately for the actor, he has missed out on winning the Oscar on every occasion.
Leonardo DiCaprio was first nominated for an Academy Award back in 1994, when he was in the Best Supporting Actor category for his performance in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Leo was then nominated for the Best Leading Actor Oscar for his role in The Aviator in 2005. Following that DiCaprio was nominated in the same category again for Blood Diamond. Unfortunately, he missed out on all three occasions.
Leonardo DiCaprio has admitted in the past that he would love to finally win an Oscar and, with the 2014 Oscar nominations just around the corner, this could be his year. There is no doubt that Leonardo DiCaprio will be nominated for the Best Leading Actor Oscar for The Wolf of Wall Street and we tip him to finally take home an Academy Award.
The Oscar 2014 nominations are revealed on January 16, with the award ceremony taking place on March 2.
