Pink and her motorcycle champion husband, Carey Hart, have sparked a huge safety debate after Carey rode on his motorcycle with their daughter Willow, 2. Even more shocking is that the young girl did not wear a helmet.
The safety issue was clear for the public to see when Carey, 38, posted two photographs of himself and his daughter on Instagram. The first shows the motorcyclist and his daughter riding together, the absence of a helmet is clear. The second photograph is of the pair in a stationary shot where Carey is lovingly embracing his daughter.
The photographs provoked instant reaction and the response of the public was shock, concern, alarm and criticism. Pink, 34, used Twitter as a platform to defend her husband's decisions to ride on the motorcycle with the toddler and to do so without a helmet. She explained that her husband's experience as a motorcyclist outweighed the risks.
The singer, whose real name is Alecia Moore, further defended her husband of seven years by jokingly implying that her daughter will be taking to the saddle again. The couple clearly hope that their daughter follows in her fathers footsteps but hopefully the next time the tot is pictured adorning the appropriate head-gear.
