Paige VanZant is making noise within the ranks of the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization both in and out of the ring. This attractive mixed martial artist has risen quickly to a number seven ranking in the strawweight division after only six professional fight and only two of them have been UFC fights.
Her most recent fight was a lop-sided point victory over Felice Herrig but even before this fight speculation about her future had begun as she signed a sponsorship deal with the Reebok athletic footwear and clothing company after only one professional UFC fight. Most fighters had either worked their way up to having been in a UFC title fight or were actual UFC title holders before they received a sponsorship deal and yet she gets sponsored after only one fight (Daily Mail - May 28).
It is common knowledge that almost no deals take place without the approval of UFC boss Dana White and she seems to fit all the criteria necessary to be able to eventually replace the current female face of the UFC, Ronda Rousey: she is gorgeous, loves to fight and is a talented fighter having a total record of six wins and one loss.
Moreover, she is not a threat to replace Ronda Rousey at this precise moment as she is the number seven ranked strawweight mixed martial artist in the UFC and as Dana White admitted in an interview, still has much work to do before she can or should enter the ring against one of the top five fighters. She 'checks all the boxes' for the UFC CEO as a potential replacement for Ronda Rousey as the next potential face of the UFC: model looks, great personality and is a dominant, unforgiving 'badass' in the octagon.
Fans of the UFC should get acquainted with Paige VanZant because it looks like she will be the next face of the UFC once Ronda Rousey decides to leave to become a full-time actress.
