The Bling Ring just premiered at Cannes, but the cast of the film has been busy giving interviews and promoting the film. Paris Hilton, who makes a small cameo in the film, spoke about her involvement in 'The Bling Ring' and her reaction to watching the finished film.
Hilton, who was actually one of the real-life victims of the 'Bling Ring' burglaries, gave permission for filmmaker Sofia Coppola to shoot in her house for the sequences in the film. When speaking about her reaction to the completed film, Hilton says, "I was really emotional watching it. During some parts of it, I literally had tears in my eyes and I wanted to cry. I knew what happened with the burglaries, but I had never actually seen it — so watching it happen, I was like, 'Oh my God, this really happened to me. These kids were really in my house and did this to me.' It's so violating. It just made me really angry and upset, and when I see these kids, I want to, like, slap them."
She also adds that the only reason she decided to have such an active participation in the film is because of Coppola, explaining, "Well, the only reason I agreed to do it at all is because it's Sofia. I have so much respect for her and I think she's an incredibly talented director. If it was anyone else doing this project, I would have said no, or 'You're not coming in my house,' but I trust her. And the movie is amazing. It's so good."
'The Bling Ring' stars Emma Watson, Leslie Mann, Katie Chang, Claire Julien, Israel Broussard, Katie Chang, Gavin Rossdale, and Taissa Farmiga and will be in theaters on June 14th, 2013.
