Music legend Paul McCartney has opened up about the Beatles split, insisting that it was not Yoko Ono’s fault. Paul does admit that Yoko made things a bit awkward for the Beatles but he partially credits her for the success of John Lennon’s solo career.
McCartney explained, “She would sit in on sessions and you'd have to try and get your mind round this. Our girlfriends or wives wouldn't have done that, and it was an unspoken rule, you wouldn't sit in on the session, so Yoko was doing this. So I think it created uncomfortable moments.”
He added, “I think she attracted John so much to another way of life that he then went on to do very successfully and had a sort of second part to his career, writing things like 'Imagine' and doing 'Give Peace A Chance'. I don't think he would have done that without Yoko.”
Despite the fact that Paul McCartney was once a member of the biggest band on the planet and the fact that he has had a hugely successful career, he still says that his biggest achievement in life, that he is most proud of is being a “Father. And grandfather to eight.”
