It was recently claimed that Oscar-winning Hollywood movie stars Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are expecting their second child together, although the couple had not yet confirmed the news, until now. The news of Penelope's pregnancy broke two weeks ago and it has finally been made official.
Penelope's publicist Javier Giner has confirmed the pregnancy news to the Associated Press, although he would not go into any further details about it, including when the baby is expected to be due. Penelope Cruz is likely to become an aunty around the time she becomes a mother, as her sister Monica revealed she was pregnant last month.
Javier Bardem, 43, and Penelope Cruz, 38, met back on the set of the 2008 Woody Allen movie, Vicky Cristina Barcelona and become a couple soon after. They have been together ever since and were married soon after, before Penelope gave birth to their first child Leonardo in January 2011.
Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem will again appear alongside each other on the big screen, in the Ridley Scott movie The Counselor, which also stars Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender and Cameron Diaz and is set to be released on November 15 in both the US and the UK.
