It came as quite a surprise to everyone, when Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley was announced as playing Jeff Buckley in the forthcoming movie Greetings From Tim Buckley. It did not seem like Penn had much of a chance of landing the role, considering the competition he was up against.
However, Badgley managed to beat off a strong crowd of actors all vying for the part, including Robert Pattinson and Tom Sturridge, to win the leading role. Now Greetings From Tim Buckley is set to begin filming in Brooklyn for most of this week, starting today.
Filming in Brooklyn is set to take place on Clinton Street and at St. Ann’s Church for much of the week, before filming packs up and heads out on Friday morning. Greetings From Tim Buckley will also star Imogen Poots and will be released sometime next year.
