When it was announce that Matt Smith was quitting his role as Doctor Who, the rumours came thick and fast as to who would be his replacement. After many different names and a lot of outrageous suggestions, it was finally confirmed that Peter Capaldi would be the new Doctor Who.
That did not stop the rumours from continuing though, this time about how we would see Peter Capaldi as the Doctor. It has now been claimed by showrunner Steven Moffat, that it is almost certain that Peter Capaldi will keep his Scottish accent.
Moffat also spoke about how the regeneration will affect the Doctor's assistant Clara, telling Doctor Who TV, "I think the fun story will be – and we have the opportunity here – is this is what regeneration can do to you. He can be very, very different."
Doctor Who will return to BBC One with the 50th Anniversary Special on November 23, when Matt Smith will still be the Doctor. We will get our first look at Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who, when he arrives in the Doctor Who 2013 Christmas Special.
Do you think Peter Capaldi will make a good Doctor Who?
