Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage has praised his mother for managing to keep him well grounded and humble. Peter won the award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for Television at the Golden Globes 2012, for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the hit HBO fantasy drama, and spoke fondly of his mother during his acceptance speech.
Dinklage explained, "I was talking to my mother in Jersey before I came out and she said, 'Have fun, but have you seen Mildred Pierce? Guy Pearce is so good, he's gonna win'. So, I haven't seen Mildred Pierce, but I'm sure it's really good. I just love our mums 'cause they keep us humble."
Peter Dinklage then went on to thank all of those involved in Game of Thrones, including the author of the books, George R R Martin, as well as the network HBO, which Game of Thrones is aired on. You can see Peter Dinklage returning to his role of Tyrion Lannister, when the second season of Game of Thrones premieres on HBO on Sunday, April 1.
