Following the huge success of the hit The CW television series The Vampire Diaries, we were given a new spinoff series called The Originals, which also went on to have a hugely successful first season and is now preparing for its second season. With The Originals season two just around the corner, the stars of the show have been talking about what fans can expect from the new season.
We have already had actor Joseph Morgan, who plays the role of Klaus, talking about the possibility of a romance happening between his character and Hayley, who is played by Phoebe Tonkin, and now Phoebe herself has been talking about The Originals season two, also touching on the relationship between Hayley and Klaus.
Tonkin explained, "She's lost and very angry and she's probably kind of looking to Klaus a little too much for guidance. She doesn't know what she wants, or what she's fighting for anymore. She's gonna have to prove to them that she's their leader and she's going to protect them."
While Phoebe Tonkin feels that Hayley is turning to Klaus a little bit too much for his advice and guidance, it does also seem that we are going to see a darker side of the character. Phoebe says that, due to the huge amount of loss she has experienced in her life recently, she is going to become much more aggressive.
Tonkin added, "Just when this woman found a connection to her werewolf ancestors, she’s now severed from that connection … For a lot of reasons — loss of her child, loss of her family, loss of her identity — she’s really going to be struggling. It’s going to push her to a place where she lashes out at everybody."
The Originals season two will premiere on The CW on Monday, October 6 at 8pm ET/PT.
