When a movie is so well received by the public and is fairly successful at the box office, there is always going to be murmurs of a sequel being made. In 2008 Pineapple Express became one of those must see movies and since then there has been constant talk of a sequel.
The stumbling blocks for Pineapple Express 2 have been obvious. The simple fact that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg have been reluctant to revisit the story means it can’t happen. However, that does not mean that it will never happen at all.
Goldberg hinted earlier in the year, during The Green Hornet press junkets, that he is definitely willing to consider looking into writing a sequel. All he needs to do now is convince Seth Rogen to join the project and it will be certain to happen. Don’t be surprised to see the Pineapple Express 2 development wheels begin to take motion in the next year or so.
