Pippa Middleton came in for a bit of criticism last year, when she published the book Celebrate, giving people advice on how to throw a good party. People claimed that the book was too simply, giving obvious advice that people would naturally use anyway.

Now, as part of her column for the magazine Party Times, Pippa has written a piece giving advice on how to throw a great first birthday party. Pippa again gives fairly simple and obvious advice, telling parents to buy lots of balloons, as kids love balloons. One particular piece of advice read, "Play some nursery and party music in the background... Or peek-a-boo is always a winner."
When it came down to food for the party, Pippa Middleton does give a fairly good receipe for Croustades but states that, in order to keep expenses to a minimum, limit canapes to just two per person. Pippa also says that it is a very good idea to baby proof the house, due to the amount of babies that will likely be there.

All of this advice will come in handy for Pippa's sister Kate Middleton, who is due to give birth to her first child in July. It was recently claimed that Kate Middleton is having a girl, after she almost said daughter, before stopping herself and claiming that they did not know the sex of the baby.
